About the Event
The Cheshire West and Chester Design Awards are made every five years. We hold an Award ceremony at a suitably prestigious venue, which is attended by sponsors, the Member of Parliament for Chester, our partners and those whose nominations have been successful and to whom Awards will be made.
In November 2025 we held a very successful Award Ceremony at Chester Town Hall at which 140 construction and property professionals celebrated good design, conservation and architecture and 25 Awards were presented.
The best examples from across West Cheshire were recognised.
Our speaker was Paul Unger, Founder & Publisher of Place North West which was established in 2007 and brings over 72,000 property professionals a month together with its website and daily newsletter. He spoke about ‘what Cheshire West should do next?’

In each of these five categories there are two sub categories:
A. New Build
B. Conversion / Refurbishment / Conservation
Entries can be considered for more than one category (for example a mixed residential and workshop development could be considered in categories 2 and 4). In 2025 we made 25 Awards and there were entries and Awards in all of the categories. The standard of all entries was very high.
The category for Sustainable Development targets development that best demonstrates the principles of environmental sustainability and addresses climate change through energy efficiency, renewable energy, use of appropriate materials and technology.
